Our long weekend in London was all about discovering fascinating places, iconic landmarks and enjoying pleasant moments in the city’s green spaces. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the atmosphere of the metropolis, where rich history intertwines with the lively pace of modern city life.
One of the main highlights of our trip was a visit to the Natural History Museum, which impressed us from the very first moment – not only with its stunning neo-Gothic architecture, but also with its vast number of exhibits. We walked through the various halls, admired the diplodocus skeleton and the captivating dinosaur displays, and allowed ourselves to be drawn into the interactive exhibitions showcasing the diversity of life on Earth. I must also mention the life-sized models of modern animals, especially the striking model of the blue whale.
In our free time, we set out to explore the city. Some of the most impressive moments were our walks along the River Thames, during which we saw several well-known bridges. The one that left the strongest impression on us was Tower Bridge, which we were able to admire both during the day and at night, when it was beautifully illuminated and created an unforgettable atmosphere. Alongside it, we also glimpsed other bridges, each with its own character and view of the river.
No visit to London would be complete without stopping by the iconic Big Ben. Its majestic silhouette, set against the backdrop of the Palace of Westminster, reminded us just how much history the city holds at every turn.
We found a touching contrast to the bustling city centre in one of London’s parks, where we came across friendly squirrels. They weren’t afraid to come close and became a charming highlight of the day – a reminder that even in the heart of the city, it is still possible to find a peaceful corner of nature.
Our entire long weekend in London was not only an opportunity to discover the beauty of this world-famous city, but also a chance to gather new experiences that will stay with us for a long time. London once again proved that it offers an endless number of places worth visiting and can enchant anyone in just a few days.
