Almost to the day exactly as it was five years ago, a stone's throw from the beach where we had our wedding and in the most beautiful place on the island – that and not only that was our Mauritius. And I have to say that it was one of our best and most amazing vacations so far. If I compare this vacation with last September's Maldives, for example, the accommodation, especially the food, was at least one level higher here than in the aforementioned Maldives (however, I cannot say whether this is the rule and that the local cuisine is so much better; or whether it was just a coincidence in our case). And I'm not even talking about the willingness and politeness of the local staff. In particular, I would like to highlight "our" driver Iqbal. His effort to accommodate us in everything was unreal.

During our stay, we took two trips into the interior of the island. One day we visited La Vallée Des Couleurs Nature Park, Lord Shiva, Grand Bassin Hindu Temple, production of ship models in Curepipe, La Vanille Nature Park Zoo and Rum St Aubin Distillery. Our second trip was to the wonderful local zoo Casela Nature Parks, where we had the opportunity to pet giant tortoises or to feed the giraffes from our hand. We also took a boat trip to the nearby area from our accommodation.

Well, in short, a wonderful vacation. After all, it was certainly not our last (and indeed not our first) holiday on this amazing Indian Ocean Island. So now, we just have to choose a date, buy tickets, book accommodation and we can go again.
