It is not for nothing that Sardinia is said to have the most beautiful beaches in Europe. And indeed it is! The most beautiful beaches we have ever seen in Europe. However, Sardinia is nicknamed the "Caribbean" of the Mediterranean, and quite rightly so. As a result, Sardinia is such a "different" Italy. It has everything that mainland Italy has, i.e. the azure sea, picturesque rocky coasts and historical monuments, in addition, there are clean and perfect beautiful beaches. The island is quite mountainous with a rugged coastline; the landscape is very diverse – we can find mountains, forests, pine groves, plains, sand dunes, uninhabited areas, streams, rocky coasts, and above all long sandy beaches.

We lived in the capital Cagliari and during the week we spent here we only visited a few beaches located east and south of the city. The most beautiful places of the city included the long promenade around the entire city coast, the breathtaking harbor and the historic center.

So if you want to see and especially swim on some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and not only Europe, and you don't want to go all the way to the Caribbean or elsewhere, then Sardine beaches are the right choice.
