AlpspiX Viewing Platform on the Osterfelderkopf, Zugspitze mountain and Wank hill – Garmisch-Partenkirchen – Germany

Garmisch-Partenkirchen has a great location. It lies in a valley below the Wetterstein mountain massif, and there are several amazing peaks in its vicinity, from which there are charming views of the surrounding area.

The most important is the highest mountain in Germany – Zuspitze, which leads to, or below its summit, from Garmisch-Partenkirchen cog railway Bayerische Zugspitzbahn. From the last station of this railway, you can reach the very top by cable car. In addition to this option, you can also get to the top with the help of two other cable cars (from Ebsee and from Ehrwald). The top of the Zugspitze itself is a magical place with incredible views of the entire area.

In addition to the nearby Zugspitze, the AlpspiX viewpoint on the top of the Osterfelderkopf and the Wank hill are also located near the city.

AlpspiX is an X-shaped steel viewing platform offering a view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen 1,000 meters below and indeed of the entire Höllental valley.

The Wank hill rises just above the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It is 1,780 m above sea level and its altitude is 1,040 m. It can be overcome on foot or by cable car. From the top, there are beautiful views of the city, the Zugspitze, and the entire Alps.

And while the landscape, as well as the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen itself, is amazing, there is one element that spoils the overall impression of an otherwise amazing place. And that's food. As a result, food is the problem of the whole of Germany. I mean its taste and a bit strange/weird combination for us. Even so, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a great place that offers many interesting and unique things to its visitors.
