It has been a long nine years since we last visited Scotland. This time, among other places, we ventured to its most western islands – the Outer Hebrides. They were the highlight of our trip, which began and actually also ended in Glasgow. From there, we continued through the administrative region of Argyll and Bute, the Scottish Highlands, the amazing Isle of Skye, and with the help of a ferry, our journey concluded on the Outer Hebrides (where, among other places, we visited the enchanting island of Great Bernera). If I had to highlight one single experience, or rather, the most beautiful feature of Scotland, it would undoubtedly be the Scottish landscape, dotted with an incredible number of lakes, castles, bridges, and stone monuments. The mysterious and mystical history here, combined with the rugged and wild, yet beautiful nature, gives this land a unique atmosphere that can only be experienced in Scotland. Who hasn’t heard of the legendary Loch Ness with its mysterious monster? And who would have thought that Scotland also has several interesting technical landmarks! For example, the Caledonian Canal, located on the west coast and connecting the North Sea with the Atlantic Ocean, is considered one of the most beautiful waterways in the world. And that's not even mentioning the Outer Hebrides, whose rugged terrain, vast pastures, and wind-beaten coasts with high cliffs make this place a tourist paradise. Of course, those who appreciate something good will also find their joy – who doesn’t know whisky, which is as synonymous with Scotland as its lakes, medieval architecture, or the Loch Ness monster. So, if you have any desire for a touristy yet captivating location and enjoy a rugged but enchanting atmosphere, Scotland is the perfect place for you – it is simply an ideal spot for all those who love wild nature, historical landmarks, and legends, but also for those seeking peace and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
