Mallorca – Balearic Islands – Spain

3.5. – 10.5.2025 Spain Balearic Islands Mallorca Abroad

Mallorca has long been one of the most visited tourist destinations. In spring and autumn, it is mainly cyclists, and in summer, not only families with children, who increase the number of people living here several times. It is actually no wonder. The sea and nature here are beautiful; for cyclists, if I do not count their possible collision with cars on busy roads, it is a paradise thanks to its location and climate, and even true gourmets will find their place here, because the food here is truly excellent. And if we add to that a large number of attractions – both for the little ones and for adults – then of course the situation here is what it is, and the huge number of people is actually a nuisance for the locals.

And it is not just cyclists who are a characteristic feature of Mallorca; the local colour is also enhanced – especially in higher altitudes – by the large number of goats that you will meet on almost every corner.

It is difficult to choose which places are the most visited, because practically all the interesting corners of the entire island are visited. Whether it is the towns (Palma de Mallorca, Port de Sóller), beaches (Playa de Muro, Cala Formentor, Cala Moltó, Cala Agulla), caves (Dragon Cave, Coves d'Artà), viewpoints (Cap de Formentor, Es Colomer), the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, the Cúber and Gorg Blau dams, or attractions for children (Palma Aquarium Mallorca, Dinosaurland). The above examples are just a fraction of what a tourist can see and visit here. Moreover, these are the places that we managed to visit during the week we spent here.

I am afraid that in the future, if things continue like this, the number of tourists will be so enormous that a situation will arise where some "regulation" will be needed to prevent it from going so far that this otherwise beautiful place becomes a place overcrowded with people and its beauty will be gone.
