Amazing place of Czechia
The National Museum in Prague is the most important Czech museum institution. The museum focuses on several scientific and collection fields in its collections. It also manages and exhibits its collections in a number of other buildings than just in Prague. Since 1891, the main building of the National Museum has been located in the monumental Neo-Renaissance historical main building in the upper part of Wenceslas Square in Prague. In 2009, the opposite building of the former Federal Assembly, where Radio Free Europe operated, was transferred to the museum's administration. In 2019, the building was connected to the main historical building by an underground tunnel. It now houses, among other things, the Children's Museum. Between 2015 and 2018, the main building of the museum was reconstructed due to the building's dilapidated condition. This was also related to the 7-year closure of the museum, during which the collections were restored, a number of changes were made, and new exhibitions were installed. And from September 1, 2021, the famous skeleton of a fin whale can once again be seen hanging from the ceiling of the museum; in addition, with the help of augmented reality in the "National Museum in your pocket" application, you can see the whale in its real form. Having such an "improved" symbol of the National Museum right above your head, including the water surface, will certainly be appreciated by young and old visitors, as well as the opportunity to take a photo with a virtual whale. The same is true of augmented reality in the Pantheon, in which the application will introduce you to important figures in our history and allow you to experience a new dimension of visiting the National Museum.
