Cottage Výrovka and Montenegrin peat bog – Giant Mountains

7.8. – 9.8.2020 Czechia Amazing place of Czechia

Cottage Výrovka (formerly German Tannenbaude, Geiergucke) is a mountain hut in the Giant Mountains in a saddle between Luční hora and Zadní planina located 2.5 km southwest of Luční bouda at an altitude of 1363 m. There is a significant crossroads of hiking trails from Špindlerův Mlýn to Pec Sněžka, from Luční bouda to Liščí hora or to Vrchlabí. The cottage is open all year round.

The Černohorské rašeliniště (the Montenegrin peat bog) nature reserve is the largest forest-type peat bog in the Krkonoše (the Giant Mountains). Its area is 66 hectares and its age is estimated at 6,000 years. An overly three-kilometer-long nature trail with beautiful panoramic views passes through the peat bog. You can also treat yourself to a view of the peat bog from the 6.5 m high lookout tower. However, due to the mature trees, it opens up a more comprehensive view only to the east. Many rare plants thrive in the area.
