Many people have no idea, but there are two ZOOs, namely one zoo and one exotic animal park, not far from České Budějovice.
One – the much more well-known one – near Hluboká nad Vltavou and the other – the less well-known one – near Borovan.

Exotic animal park Dvorec u Borovan keeps many interesting animals, starting with beasts (e.g. lion, tiger, lynx, etc.) through primates (lemur, ...) and ungulates (donkey, lama, buffalo, ...) and e.g. turtle or viper ends. It is a small animal park, despite this, or precisely because of this, many animals live in close proximity to humans; much closer to man than anywhere else.
