The weather was beautiful all last weekend. And in the hope that the weather would remain like this on Monday and Tuesday, when it was a holiday, I planned a vacation for Monday and the accompanying visit to the Bavarian Forest National Park. But the weather is unpredictable and Monday was the worst day of the entire long weekend as far as the weather is concerned. Despite this initially negative appearance, the trip turned out to be a success, and despite the incessant rain, some interesting wildlife photos were taken. The biggest surprise, at first a shock, was that they let visitors right among the wild pigs without any barriers between them and the pigs. Thanks to this, on the contrary, it was possible to photograph unusual photos of wild boars and their cubs. However, due to the rain, most of the more attractive animals – such as bears and wolves – were hidden, so their photos are not in my photo bank.
The Bavarian Forest National Park was established on October 7, 1970 as the first National Park in Germany. It is the largest German forest national park (24 thousand ha). In addition to this area with animals, it includes a similar area near the town of Ludwigsthal, a deer park in Scheuereck, an outdoor botanical and geological exhibition, several information centers and museums, as well as a path in the treetops. It is a place with a rich offer not only for photographers, but also for families with children.
