Fauna and Flora
On Saturday – and then the entire long weekend – the weather was wonderful. Thanks to the trip to central Bohemia and, above all, enough free time, I was able to visit and take a day trip to the – by Czech standards – “huge” Prague Zoo.
Prague ZOO is really big compared to other Czech gardens, but due to the fact that it is located in the capital, where it is one of the most visited places – especially on weekends and in good weather – it makes it a difficult place to photograph a picture without a person, a fence or a protective mesh. This Saturday alone, almost 10,000 people visited the ZOO.
I learned two things from this photography. The first insight is that even animals (especially birds) located behind the protective mesh can be photographed in such a way that the mesh is not visible at all in the image due to the small depth of field of telephoto lenses. The second insight related to photography through glass. In the case of a "tight" contact of the lens to the glass (the protective glass must be relatively clean), there is no disturbing reflection on the image and no other "damage" that would otherwise spoil the entire image. Thanks to the beautiful weather, various species of animals with colorful coloring, I think that beautiful photos were created representing the diversity of foreign fauna of the whole world.
