The Lipno Dam – especially its part near the town of Černá v Pošumaví, where the dam is the widest in its entire length and thus creates a huge water area – provides many opportunities for various water sports. These include, for example, sailing races, windsurfing, but also a sport with a rather exotic name for us – kiteboarding. Kiteboarding or kitesurfing is a sport consisting of riding on water on a special board called a kiteboard using a towing kite.
Saturday's very strong winds showed that this sport – if you know how and if the conditions are right for it – will allow those who practice it to create amazing acrobatic formations in the air. Their jumps, somersaults and somersaults are in no way comparable to real acrobats.
