Costa Rica 2018

18.12. – 31.12.2018 Costa Rica Abroad

Our second trip to this beautiful Central American country. Part of our travel time were also not quite the usual fact. On the one hand, it was the chosen period of our visit – we have already verified for several days that it is not necessary to be at home at Christmas, and still enjoy the Christmas holidays; just run away from that crazy Christmas bustle. And secondly, we did not travel alone, as usual in most cases, but this time was a bit more. Despite this, I have to say that we have enjoyed the journey again. Besides, we had amazing accommodation in all the places we visited, so we were totally satisfied.

Again, we visited both oceans. We were and we bathed in both the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean. We also entered the middle mountainous, respectively volcanic, parts of Costa Rica. Many places where we were almost five years ago have changed; in tourist centers, there are many more hotels than before; many places have grown considerably in tourism. We have once again chosen the way to see it as much as possible and to see something other than our previous visit. That does not mean that we were not in the places we liked so much last time. On the contrary, such a Caño Negro is always worth a visit. We even came to see that there was much more animals to be seen at this time than it did last time at the turn of February and March. The fact that we have seen again and have the opportunity to observe a great number of amazing animal species at a very close distance, it does not cost to repeat. A great number of caimans, iguanas, herons, arassari, sloths, monkeys and, last but not least, various species of hummingbirds and other bird species have made us company throughout our journey. On our last visit, we visited the volcano Poás, this time it was the volcano Irazú, which is, incidentally, with its height of 3432 meters above sea level, the highest volcano in Costa Rica.

And again, I will repeat what I have written since our last visit that Costa Rica is a land where everyone finds theirs; Costa Rica is just such a large zoo, where animals are not caged, but they move freely around you. At the same time, it is a country that we would recommend to everyone to visit first if you decide to start traveling around the Central American countries.
