Posázaví – Vlčí rokle

27.4.2013 Czechia Amazing place of Czechia

Not far from the river Sázava, near the village of Prosečnice, there is another tip of mine for a beautiful trip. After a few kilometers of marked yellow tourist signs, the visitor will discover the natural monument Vlčí rokle in the beautiful forests of Posázaví. The hiking trail first leads through an ordinary but pretty valley, still slightly uphill along the stream; however, it will gradually turn into a footpath and you will find yourself in the land of "huge" boulders. This ravine is covered by a geomorphologically interesting stone sea of granite boulders up to several meters in size, under which a stream flows. The vegetation of the stream consists of original beech trees (some of which are more than 200 years old). The picturesque Vlčí rokle has been protected as a natural monument since 1990.
