Mallorca

27.5. – 3.6.2012 Spain Mallorca Abroad

Ibiza, Menorca and especially Mallorca – all these islands make up the Balearic Islands archipelago. All three islands lie in the Mediterranean Sea not far from Spain, to which they also belong. Mallorca is not only the largest of the three islands, but it is also the largest island in Spain. The area of the island is 3,648 km²; the island is 110 km long and between 60 and 90 km wide. Its largest and capital city is Palma de Mallorca.
And why am I even mentioning this wonderful island? It was the goal of our vacation! Like many other tourists who have already visited this island and who spoke of it as an island full of tourists, but also an island full of greenery and ideal for cyclists, we also wanted to get to know this interesting island full of life – and not just the night life. And our vacation convinced us that the information was correct. Especially weekend rushes of young German tourists make the island one big "party". Of course, this only applies to larger cities. Beyond them, you can discover amazing and very quiet beaches and coves with incredibly clear water; unusual and interesting villages in mountainous areas with a rich cultural and historical past and beyond beautiful nature and places attractive for mountain climbing or cycling. All this and much more makes Mallorca the ideal holiday destination.
