Although it was ugly all day in Prague and not only in Prague on the national holiday, we still took a trip to the nearby Hazmburk Castle. When we arrived at the castle, the weather looked similar to Prague, but over time, the weather became milder and the sun and blue sky peeked out for a while.
Hazmburk Castle was one of the largest and strongest castles of its time. As it was also built on a lonely and high hill, it was practically impregnable. The castle consists of two parts, the Lower and the Upper Castle, but the question of the chronological sequence of the individual parts of the castle has not been reliably resolved to this day. It is not clear whether the Upper Castle represents a separate construction phase, or whether the entire castle was built according to a unified plan from the beginning.
